Concept REFLEXION watch.

Posted on 28 January 2012 by Endi

The concept of this watch uses the ancient graphic symbols. 3 columns : 1st columns indicates the hours.2nd columns indicates the first number of minutes.3rd columns indicates the minutes units. Each symbol is just two numbers reflected in mirror. Once you know the trick, it’s really easy to tell the time. The reading is direct. Design looks cool and intriguing but it’s really simple to read for those who know the trick. Display can be adapted to LCD like LEDs. Two display mode : 1st, all symbols are lit and the 3 that indicate time are flashing.2nd, just the 3 symbols that show the time are lit. Technology news Concept REFLEXION watch

Concept watch with Mirrors and LEDs.

Posted on 13 December 2011 by Endi

The design is pretty simple but  creates a spectacular effect. The principle is the endless reflection of light between two mirrors. The watch consists of a mirror dial, 60 small LEDs on top of the dial and glass crystal over everything. The twist is the fact that the glass crystal is a slightly smoked one way mirror facing the dial. Between the two, 60 LED lights are positioned which when turned on will create the impression of an endless tunnel starting from your wrist towards infinity. Telling time is simple and very similar to a normal analog watch. One LED shows the seconds, a group of two LED lights show the minutes and finally three LED lights will tell you the hours. The difference is the hour indicator does not slide between positions gradually but rather jumps from one position to the other. Technology news Concept watch with Mirrors and LEDs

Concept Twist Watch.

Posted on 15 November 2011 by Endi

The watch case is a hexagon, cut in half in its thickness.  When you unscrew the top to 30 ° in the direction of clockwise, the hexagon (6 sides) has turned into dodecagon (12 sides), this action activates the LEDs of hours (the peaks of dodecagon) and minutes, sticks arranged in a circle on the case, after a quick animation of all the LEDs, to stop on the exact time. It is thus a Watch with an analog reading.
This watch is aimed primarily at teenager. It’s a fun watch, easy to read, with several versions of bracelets, dyed leather, polyurethane, drawings: “flowers, leopard skin, zebra, snake, etc..” with metal housing, or various plastics, in colors “flashy” (bright neon pink, blue, gold, silver etc.). Halftone LED Watch.

Posted on 24 October 2011 by Endi

The Halftone watch is an analog watch with three superimposed colored layers which work as watch hands.  Each color has a sharp edge and a metal dot which represents the actual watch hand position.  Behind the sharp edge the colored dots get smaller and smaller within 360° until they are gone which creates a fading color density. The different orientations of the watch hands and the different densities of each color create many different interference patterns and colors so each time you look at the watch, it surprises you with another image.
It works like an LED screen – it simulates any color. The few colors of cyan, magenta, yellow (and black too) are applied in tiny dots.  From a certain distance, this dot pattern cannot be seen anymore and the basic colors seem to mix to the final motif. This watch design has a sober and neutral case which makes the watch wearable with different clothes. Technology news Halftone LED Watch

Concept Tyre LED Watch.

Posted on 18 October 2011 by Endi

This watch design is a very simple concept and reading the time is easy. To tell the time, you simple squeeze the sides of the tyre (no visible button).  The appropriate sections of the tread would then be illuminated to display the time in a digital format. Perhaps motorists will appreciate this concept of hours. Technology news Concept Tyre LED Watch

Concept Dot-to-Dot Watch.

Posted on 13 October 2011 by Endi

The Dot-to-Dot watch tells time exactly the way you’d think from its name – by drawing lines between dots on its display. Dot-to-Dot would feature four small, segmented display sections, each of which initially display a series of dots on their faces. In addition to the cool black-on-white display, the concept calls for a white-on-black variant, as well as a variety of modern watch bands to go with. While the design is still just a concept, but  someday, you could actually be telling time with a connect-the-dot puzzle on your wrist. Technology news Concept Dot-to-Dot Watch

Samsung Claiming 2001: A Space Oddysey held original iPad design

Posted on 04 October 2011 by Tech

In the tech business of 2011, patent lawsuits are very much in vogue, with Apple leading the charge against anyone who so much as hints at their iProducts as a form of inspiration. Whether it’s a tablet computer, a smartphone or an mp3 player, anyone taking design tips from the California-based tech company is going to find themselves handed a rather worrying letter from one of the USA’s most valuable companies.  Apple-and Samsung_movie
However, Samsung have taken a rather interesting approach to the claims made by Apple that Samsung have essentially produced a copycat tablet, in Apple’s attempt to get an injunction preventing Samsung’s new tech from selling on American shores. Rather than simply deny any connection between the designs of the two ranges of hardware (which would be legal suicide, given the obvious design plagarism at work here), Samsung are claiming that the design for the iPad has been seen decades before in cinema. What film, you ask?
2011: A space Odyssey.
No, we’re completely serious. If you watch the film, you’ll see two of the cast using tablet computers that look similar. Why? Because all tablets in sci-fi films resemble all tablet computers, but Samsung are claiming this to be “prior art” in an attempt to invalidate Apple’s claim to its design. So, if you’re currently swishing onto o2.co.uk to pay your iPad’s 3G bill, it’s worth noting that you’ve likely made the right choice, here.
It has been suggested that if Samsung wins, this sets a dangerous precedent, as sci-fi could account for the design of a significant amount of patented technology. But it’s going to be a fairly difficult case when Samsung have copycat designs of everything from the tablet’s overall look right down to the icon design for their smartphone handsets.
